Williams Puts $27M Into Epoch

Epoch Internet will purchase $128 million worth of long-haul capacity from Williams Communications over the next 20 years

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Epoch Internet, the nation’s largest privately held tier-1 Internet solutions provider, today announced a $27 million investment by and strategic relationship with Williams Communications (NYSE: WCG), an international provider of telecommunications services and products for the carrier marketplace. As part of the agreement between the two companies, Epoch Internet will purchase $128 million worth of long-haul network capacity from Williams Communications over the next 20 years. Epoch Internet plans to use a portion of this new working capital to support its ambitious growth plans for servicing Web hosting and bandwidth-intensive customers. Williams Communications will also provide Epoch Internet with data center space in multiple locations, expanding Epoch’s national footprint of data centers.
