WaveSplitter Raises $51 Million

Optical amplifier and DWDM component startup plans to expand manufacturing capacity, accelerate product development

FREMONT, Calif. -- WaveSplitter Technologies, Inc., a supplier of fiber optic components for optical amplifier and DWDM systems, today announced the completion of a $51 million equity financing round which was led by Thomas Weisel Capital Partners. This latest round attracted a consortium of late stage venture and corporate investors, including J. & W. Seligman & Co., Corvis Corporation, NEC Corporation and Kalkhoven Pettit Levin Ventures LLC. In addition, previous investors Mayfield Funds, China Development Industrial Bank, NIF Ventures and Star Ventures participated in the round.
