Wavecom to provide wireless technology for next-generation mobile phones from Chinese computer giant Legend

ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX, France and HONG KONG -- Wavecom SA (Nasdaq:WVCM)(Euronext: AVM)(ISIN: FR0000073066) today announced that it will provide its wireless technology to Legend, China's largest personal computer maker and a rising star in the dynamic Chinese mobile handset market.

Legend has selected Wavecom's Compact Phones Development Lab, with the WISMO Pac P3206 hardware platform, for its new G628 mobile telephone. The handset will feature GPRS Class 10, a dual color LCD, 32-chord polyphonic ring tones and WAP capabilities. Legend, which entered the mobile handset business for the first time in 2002, expects the G628 to be available in the third quarter of 2003.
