READING, U.K. -- Vocera Communications Ltd., a wireless communications company providing instant voice communication for mobile personnel, announced today it has opened offices in Reading to support the launch of the Vocera Communications System in the United Kingdom. Vocera announced they will be represented in-country by a stellar lineup of reselling partners.
The Vocera Communications System, which has been available in the United States since 2002, enables mission-critical mobile workers within buildings or campuses to instantly communicate with one another using wearable Vocera Communications Badges. The system provides hands free calling that is set up via voice commands. Targeting hospital, retail, hospitality, and other enterprise environments, the Vocera System combines the leading-edge technologies of wireless LAN, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and speech recognition to allow instant communication.
“Vocera is a new paradigm in speech communication,” said Julie Shimer, CEO of Vocera Communications. “We have researched the customer needs and technology adoption for each region we expect to enter, and the United Kingdom was the most natural choice for our first European market.”
