TOKYO -- NEC Corporation today announced its selection by UQ Communications Inc. (President: Takashi Tanaka, Head Office: Tokyo), a nationwide telecommunications carrier capitalizing on mobile WiMAX technologies, to supply mobile WiMAX base stations.

UQ Communications has chosen to adopt NEC’s recently developed PasoWings BS202 mobile WiMAX base station, the world’s first WiMAX base station equipped with UL-BF (*1) technologies, which are used to improve communications speed and increase base station coverage area by reducing radio frequency interference between base stations and data transmission terminals.
