Turkcell Drops Iraq Bid

ISTANBUL, Turkey -- On August 7, 2007, Turkcell announced that as part of evaluating investment opportunities inthe region, the Company decided to conduct the necessary studies to participate in thetender for the issuance of a total of three National Mobile Telecommunication Licenses inIraq for a 15 year period.

Turkcell participated in the auction process of the tender, however, as per the evaluationbased on its business plan decided to withdraw from the tender.
