SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Tropos Networks, Inc., the leading supplier of systems used to build metro-scale Wi-Fi networks, today announced the appointment of networking industry veteran Ron Sege as the company's president and chief executive officer. Sege, most recently the CEO of Ellacoya Networks, brings 20 years of experience managing high-growth businesses in the networking market. His arrival highlights Tropos Networks' leadership in the rapidly developing metro-scale Wi-Fi market.
"Ron has the experience and track record to build on Tropos Networks' success in deploying metro-scale outdoor Wi-Fi networks for public safety and service providers," said David Hanna, chairman of Tropos Networks. In addition to his duties as Chairman of the Board, Hanna will continue his active role in the company's strategic selling efforts.
