This Technology to unlock full functionality of FreeWheel’s MRM for dynamic ad insertion with select programmers and operators

NEW YORK -- This Technology, a leading provider of software solutions for dynamic ad insertion (DAI), today announced that it is developing a plug-in for its SpotLink interconnect software that supports the full functionality of video technology company FreeWheel’s Monetization Rights Management® (MRM).

The non-exclusive agreement gives programmers that have already deployed FreeWheel’s MRM the ability to manage ad insertion on any MSO platform with near-term focus on Video on Demand (VOD) and network DVR (nDVR) ads and DAI using their existing FreeWheel systems, providing operating efficiencies and cost savings. These programmers will also be able to consolidate VOD and nDVR DAI ad inventory and other emerging MSO DAI video platforms with online video ad inventory, providing necessary scale to ad sales operations. Major programmers and operators will implement the plug-in across systems and expect to rollout initial production implementations in early 2012.

This Technology’s standards-based SpotLink connects SCTE 130-compliant DAI systems to broadband ad servers, removing integration challenges that exist for networks that want to use their existing broadband ad server with any MSO system. Whereas core functionality of SpotLink includes translating all of the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s (IAB) Video Advertising Serving Template (VAST) standard, the new plug-in for FreeWheel will incorporate all of the features and functionality offered by MRM, while still remaining compatible with SCTE-130.
