VANCOUVER -- TeraSpan Networks, an Ignition Point subsidiary (TSX-VEN:IPN), announces that it has provided connectivity to another data centre for one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies.
“TeraSpan’s Vertical Inlaid Fiber (VIF) technology is so cost effective that building a redundant fiber link becomes economically viable for customers. This is particularly attractive to strategic locations such as data centres,” states Lisa Payne, TeraSpan COO. “We are pleased that clients are readily choosing TeraSpan’s unique technology to solve their redundancy issues.”
VIF technology solves many of the difficult problems posed by fiber deployment. Utilizing a micro-cabling technique enables TeraSpan’s technology to avoid costly build and restoration costs associated with traditional fiber deployment.
“A dedicated, redundant path is always the premium network solution for customers. The VIF system allows them to fulfill their current and future data requirements with a fiber path, while at the same time saving tremendously on the cost to deploy it,” says Darren Dofher, TeraSpan VP Technology.
