SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Telsima, a leading developer of converged network solutions, announces the completion of its $20 M Series C round of funding. Joining NewPath Ventures were New Enterprise Associates, CMEA Ventures, and JAFCO Asia. Byron Askin, Partner at Jafco Asia-Pacific, will take a board seat.

"We welcome our new investors, NEA, CMEA and JAFCO Asia, firms that truly understand the benefits of cross-border companies," said Alok Sharma, CEO of Telsima. "Telsima's mission - Connecting the World through Broadband - is a reflection of our dedication to provide end-to-end networking solutions which enable service delivery at disruptive cost points for emerging markets, particularly, India. Telsima's focus on price/performance points appropriate for emerging markets enables us to compete very effectively on a worldwide basis."

Telsima products are based on innovative, high performing technologies that break price-performance barriers. They are particularly suitable for fast growing emerging markets, indicated by the company's pioneering use of WiMAX in densely populated India. Telsima's Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) products combine efficient System-on-a-Chip (SoC) based design, coupled with patent-pending smart antenna and RF systems. This enables operators to deploy non-line-of-sight broadband wireless services in dense urban, suburban and rural environments cost effectively.

The company also offers Carrier Ethernet Transport and DCME voice compression solutions. Telsima's OptiFlow family of Carrier Ethernet Transport solutions allow for carrier class Ethernet services fully capable of delivering mission critical business services as well as carrier grade IPTV. Telsima's DCME product line, TelsiNex, offers voice compression solutions delivering toll quality voice. It is widely deployed in cellular networks to reduce the cost of leased lines by a factor of 16.
