ATLANTA -- Supercomm 2001 -- Tellium (Nasdaq: TELM), provider of the world's first in-service, intelligent core optical switch, is conducting a live optical network mesh demonstration of its Aurora(TM) family of optical switches in Booth #3834 at SUPERCOMM 2001 in Atlanta, June 5-7, at the Georgia World Congress Center. "The live optical mesh network demonstration is significant because it shows that Tellium's carrier-class core optical switches and software are available to customers and currently working in real networks," said Chris Nicoll, vice president, Telecom Infrastructure at Current Analysis. "At the present time, no other core optical switch maker can show the complete in-service hardware and software solution that Tellium can." The live network demonstration features a core-grooming 512-port Aurora Optical Switch(TM) and 128-port Aurora 128(TM) optical switches, interconnected to demonstrate applications from Tellium's customer production networks. With OC-48 and OC-192 live connections, the demonstration also consists of Tellium's StarNet Operating System(TM) (OS) and Wavelength Management System(TM) (WMS), showing capabilities such as network topology discovery, A-Z mesh provisioning and network protection services.Tellium Inc.
