HELSINKI -- Under the two-year agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will modernize TeliaSonera Finland’s existing GSM and 3G networks, and roll out new LTE services. TeliaSonera was the first operator in the world to commercially launch 4G services − now its customers in the central part of Helsinki can enjoy super-fast mobile broadband services, thanks to Nokia Siemens Networks’ 4G/LTE* radio equipment.
"Our first and foremost focus is on constantly improving the quality, speed and coverage of our mobile networks for our customers. Our current 4G services rollout in Helsinki is in line with this objective,” said Claes Nycander, CTO and SVP of Mobility Services at TeliaSonera. “We have selected Nokia Siemens Networks to fully modernize our existing radio networks, and roll out 2G, 3G and 4G services. This will allow us to ensure the best end-user experience while enabling us to be the leader in services and technology.”
