Italian operator Teleunit appoints Ezio Peri as chief operating officer

PERUGIA, Italy -- Teleunit Spa, a provider of fixed line telephony, wireless broadband, international calling cards, premium access numbers, content for mobile and wholesale services in Italy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ezio Peri, who joins the Company as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect.

Mr Peri brings over twenty years' operational telecommunications, information technology and electronic engineering experience at board level in blue-chip businesses including Telecom Italia, Sun Microsystems, Olivetti Research, Delphi S.p.A, Nodalis and HG3 SpA. At H3G, Ezio Peri held the position of Business Sales Director and prior to that he was a Director in the Commercial Department of Nodalis. From 1998 until 2000, Mr Peri was Vice President of Business Marketing at Telecom Italia Mobile.

As formerly announced, the Board has executed its previous intention to promote Francesco Cimica, current Chief Operating Officer, to Chief Executive Officer and Gianfranco Cimica, the current Chief Executive Officer, to Executive Vice Chairman. The move from Chief Executive Officer allows Gianfranco Cimica to focus on the strategic development of the Group.
