WASHINGTON -- Granite Systems, the leading communications software provider of Service Resource Management (SRM) solutions, today announced that Telefonica, one of the world's leading telecommunications operators, has selected Granite's Xng[R] System for its Brazilian subsidiary, Telefonica Empresas. Following an exhaustive evaluation of the world's leading SRM solutions for acceptance as an enterprise-wide standard for Telefonica companies, Granite's Xng was selected as the SRM platform for Telefonica Empresas.

To fully support its services and the network on which they are offered, Telefonica Empresas needed an SRM system that could provide a complete picture of the resources available to the carrier, map to the carrier's unique business processes and provide the necessary platform to manage services more effectively. Xng will drive "assembly line" efficiencies in the service configuration and provisioning processes, connecting disparate OSSs to speed provisioning. With Xng managing all physical and logical resources, the benefits of a tight integration between business processes, services and resources are possible and cost-effective for the first time.

"We invested significant time and money into evaluating the market's leading SRM solutions to find the system that would help us maximize the revenue potential of our network and services," stated Sergio Nascimento, superintendent of Network Implementation Projects for Telefonica Empresas. "Ultimately, we selected Granite Systems' Xng System because the combination of its rich feature set, ease of integration with other OSSs and proven track record demonstrated that it would provide a strong competitive advantage and the greatest ROI."
