The TIP Optical Amplifier Protection Switch is the first of its kind in the telecommunication industry. Using the latest in optical switching technology, the TIP Optical Amplifier Protection Switch provides 1:N protection for optical amplifiers.An important application of this switch is in folded ring or linear SONET systems with optical amplifiers. Without optical amplifier protection, an amplifier failure may result in lost traffic and considerable down time.
