SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Teja Technologies Inc., the leading supplier of embedded networking and communications software for multiprocessor architectures, today announced that it has appointed Advanced Data Controls Corporation (ADaC) as its Japanese distributor for Teja NP, the company's award-winning software platform. ADaC, which has a long and successful history serving the embedded software needs of Japan's leading telecom and networking manufacturers, will sell and support Teja's complete product line in the Japanese market.

"Japanese OEMs are actively seeking technologies that will allow them to bring their next generation systems products to market more quickly and economically," said David Stepner, Teja's president and CEO. "ADaC, with its excellent track record in this region, makes the ideal partner for us as we continue to expand Teja's presence in international markets around the world."

The Teja NP Software Platform allows system vendors and networking OEMs to create, test and implement software applications for multi-processor architectures -- such as network processors and multi-core communications processors -- in less than half the time it takes with other methods. Teja accomplishes this through a unique approach to developing embedded networking applications that greatly simplifies the creation of software for parallel, multiprocessing architectures.

An OEM's primary challenge in designing with these types of systems is in properly partitioning the application code among the multiple processors, allocating shared memory, and building a framework to support scheduling, inter-processor communication and synchronization. Teja NP gives OEMs the ability to define a complete system's application logic in a C-based, hardware-independent model that is separately mapped to the various resources of the target hardware configuration, resulting in the automatic generation of optimized production code for the target system. The benefits of using Teja NP include the development of reliable, high-performance products that provide OEMs with a first-to-market advantage with significant reduction in engineering risk. Teja NP includes an Application Development Environment, a Network Processing Operating System (NPOS) Run Time and an extensible library of embedded network application building blocks.

Available applications from Teja and Teja Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) include IPv4 and IPv6 forwarding, TCP Offload/Termination, and ATM. Unlike reference code, all of Teja's foundation applications are fully documented and supported and are designed to be quickly and easily extended and customized using the Teja NP Application Development Environment. Teja applications are delivered pre-configured to run on popular development and production boards, including ADLINK, Force, Intel, Motorola, and RadiSys. Teja NP is currently available for the Intel(R) IXP2000(TM) family of network processors.

"ADaC firmly believes that Teja's products are needed solutions for our major OEM customers using the Intel IXP2000 family of network processors in Japan," said Takashi Kawahara, president of Advanced Data Controls. "Teja Technologies complements well with our product and business strategy, and we are pleased to establish this new relationship with them."
