Chunghwa Telecom selects Tecnomen to expand and upgrade its messaging system

ESPOO, Finland -- Tecnomen Corporation has been selected by Chunghwa Telecom Co. Ltd to expand and upgrade the Taiwanese mobile operator's messaging system. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 7.2 million. Delivery of the enhanced system will take place at the end of 2003 and the beginning of 2004.
The Tecnomen messaging system will provide enhanced voice mail services including multimedia capabilities as well as an expansion to Chunghwa Telecom's existing voice mail solution.
"The mobile market in Asia, in which we are playing a major role, is very competitive," states Mr. Yee-Sing Hu, Managing Director of Engineering Dept., Chunghwa Telecom Mobile Business Group. "This upgrade will significantly increase our messaging capacity and strengthen Chunghwa Telecom's messaging solution portfolio to meet the rapidly changing needs of our end users. We will use the new services to attract new subscribers to both our GSM and 3G services, and to further increase voice traffic and customer loyalty."
