Sumitomo Electric Networks introduces ADSL customer premises equipment based on Broadcom's BCM6345 single-chip ADSL CPE router

IRVINE, Calif. -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), the leading provider of integrated circuits enabling broadband communications, today announced that Sumitomo Electric Networks introduced ADSL Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) based on the Broadcom(R) BCM6345 single-chip, high-performance ADSL CPE router solution. The BCM6345 has been chosen for Sumitomo Electric Networks' next-generation MegaBit Gear TE46xxC ADSL CPE series, which is currently in full production and shipping to ADSL subscribers. "With the ADSL market in Japan continuing to grow, BCM6345-based CPE solutions raise the level of Annex C performance and provide a low-risk platform for Sumitomo Electric Networks' products to support enhanced value added services like Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and IEEE 802.11-based wireless LANs," said Yutaka Wada, General Manager, Development Group, Sumitomo Electric Networks, Inc.
