February 22, 2010
MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT) (www.adc.com) today announced that its InterReach Fusion(R) distributed antenna systems (DAS) are being deployed at the King Abdul Aziz Endowment in Mecca to deliver strong and consistent mobile service throughout the multi-building, 1.5 million-square-metre complex. ADC's products were selected for what is believed to be the largest in-building deployment in the world by Saudi Telecom, Saudi Arabia's leading mobile provider.
"We selected ADC's systems from among all others because of their ability to deliver superior signal quality throughout this enormous complex," said Abdul Malik Al-Murshed, network implementation general manager for Saudi Telecom." As the facility will house as many as 65,000 pilgrims to the annual Hajj, including members of the Royal Family, we wanted to ensure that everyone could receive outstanding mobile voice and data coverage from anywhere within the structure."
