SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Looking to develop strategies that will enable it to continue enjoying a strong performance in the PSTN/IP converged, hybrid network products and services market, SS8 Networks has selected Richard Moran as chief marketing officer. He joins SS8 Networks after serving as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Maple Optical Systems. "Solid leadership in the SS8 Networks marketing department will be a key factor as we continue to move forward and increase our presence in the market," said SS8 Networks President and CEO Grant Wakelin. "Rick has the necessary industry experience to help SS8 Networks develop effective marketing messages that resonate with our carrier audience." As SS8 Networks defines new market segments and expands its position in the industry, the company will take advantage of Moran's telecom industry sales and marketing expertise. In the position of CMO, he will be responsible for marketing communications, product marketing, product management and market development. Moran began his career in the telecommunications industry in 1979 with Bell Canada, and in 1984, he went to work for Northern Telecom Canada, now Nortel Networks. While with Nortel Networks, he worked in a variety of senior marketing and sales roles. He now adds his 23 years of telecommunications industry experience to the established expertise SS8 Networks has built in the development of traditional, next-generation and converged network environments, signaling and enhanced services.
