Sterlite bags contracts worth INR32.2M from Sri Lanka Telecom for fiber optic cables

PUNE, India -- Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd, India’s only and leading integrated manufacturer of Optical Fibers and Telecom Cables today announced that it has been awarded two contracts for supply of Fiber Optic Cables to Sri Lanka Telecom. These contracts were secured amidst stiff competition from over 15 global companies.

The contracts from Sri Lanka Telecom have a combined value of over INR 32.2 million and deliveries would be completed within the next 4 weeks.

These contracts mark an important milestone in Sterlite Optical’s strategy to take advantage of global opportunities and enter new markets. Sterlite Optical Technologies has had recent success in the SAARC Region with commencement of supplies of Copper Telecom Cables to Bhutan Telecom and supplies of Fiber Optic Cables to Bhutan, Nepal & Bangladesh.

In the last few years, Sterlite Optical Technologies has made impressive gains in international markets like China, Europe & the Middle East and is attempting to gain a foothold in other emerging markets. Sterlite Optical enjoys a 7% market share in China.
