LOD, Israel -- Magnum Communications Fund led an investment round, of US$ 2.5 million in Smart-SS7. Smart-SS7 focuses on developing fixed mobile convergence (FMC) Intelligent Network (IN)-based technology and solutions for mobile and fixed operators. Smart-SS7 solutions enable smooth and effective transition from legacy TDM technologies to future VoIP technologies, as well as extensive range of market-proven services to enhance revenues.
"The SmartFMC(TM) solution enables mobile network operators to deliver a full-suite of converged telephony services to both mobile and fixed subscriber," said Eran Dotan CEO and co-founder of Smart -- SS7, "while protecting existing investments in the core mobile network, service platforms and back-office systems. The SmartFMC(TM) solution further enables introduction of advanced cutting-edge VoIP solutions such as IP Centrex (hosted IP PBX) from leading third-party vendors, while facilitating existing customer base to enjoy these services without imposing a complete re-investment in new terminals or network infrastructure."
The SmartSCP(TM) platform, on which the SmartFMC(TM) solution is based, offers operators additional attractive applications such as virtual PBX for mobile and fixed subscribers, multiple identities (numbers) for a single user, multiple terminals (fixed and mobile) for a single user, call and session control for prepaid implementation using real-time third party billing systems, personalized ring-back tones for originating and terminating calls, and much more.
The SmartSCP(TM) telco-grade platform employs a unique highly-flexible and powerful service adaptation engine, enabling Smart-SS7 to deliver any innovative telecom service to match the operator's marketing team requirements -- including integration of existing services based on other third-party platforms -- in a rapid yet effective manner.
Smart-SS7 solutions are critical enablers in the operator's arsenal during this transition period: from 2G to 3G, from TDM to VoIP, from fixed or mobile pure play to a fixed mobile convergence play.
Commenting on the investment, Magnum's Managing Partner -- Modi Rosen says, "This attractive investment is consistent with our strategy of identifying high-quality companies."
