NICE, France -- SL Corporation, a leading provider of software applications and development tools for the graphic display of real-time data, today announced that SL-GMS J/Net was chosen to create the plug-and-play user interface for the Fine Grain NGOSS (New Generation Operations Support Systems) powered Catalyst Project. "Thriving in today's changing telecom industry requires quick migration of service providers to efficient, scalable, reliable, secure and contemporary technologies. In response to this need, the Catalyst project allows service providers, system integrators and vendors to work together to solve commonly agreed upon industry challenges," said SL Corporation's CEO, Tom Lubinski. "The Fine Grain NGOSS approach provides for a graduated migration path to these technologies and we are excited to take part in this program." Chosen by the Fine Grain NGOSS group to provide the user interface components for the Catalyst project, J/Net was used to create topological displays describing the current status of the Fine Grain network -- dynamically showing in real-time the physical and logical connections of the network, as well as the status of individual elements and hardware components. In the Fine Grain demonstration scenario, which is also showing at the upcoming SUPERCOMM show (Booth #20658), the initial network will be placed in a state where a QOS SLA violation is about to be approached. The J/Net topology display component will indicate alarm conditions on the network. This QOS event will activate a work order which is sent to a service engineer with a wireless PDA device. The J/Net work order component will then display the work order and a graphical display of actual equipment shelf status and indications where to place a new card in the shelf to complete the work order. New services are then provisioned and the topology display will indicate new physical and logical network connections and status.
