Elcoteq to provide electronics manufacturing services at its plant in Pécs, Hungary for products that are part of Siemens' GSM basestations

PÉCS, Hungary -- Elcoteq and the Networks division of Siemens Mobile have signed an agreement under which Elcoteq will provide electronics manufacturing services (EMS) for products that are part of Siemens' GSM base stations. Production ramp-up is planned to start in November this year at Elcoteq's plant in Pécs, Hungary. In addition to the manufacturing agreement Siemens Mobile granted Elcoteq an approved EMS supplier status.

This new deal is an important step in fulfilling our communications technology strategy, and we are looking forward to expanding our collaboration with Siemens to other products as well," says Mr Lasse Kurkilahti, President and CEO of Elcoteq.
