ATLANTA, GA--Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. announced today that it has signed an equity agreement to invest $10 million in Luminous Networks, a leading developer of next-generation optical transport technology. Scientific-Atlanta has also signed a contract with Luminous that calls for Luminous to supply Scientific-Atlanta with fiber transport products over the next several years. In addition, Scientific-Atlanta and Luminous have agreed to enable Scientific-Atlanta's video technology to be integrated into the Luminous platform. Specific terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
