PETAH TIKVA, Israel -- ECI Telecom, a global provider of networking infrastructure solutions and services, today announced that Schiphol Telematics (ST), the telecom operator at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands, has selected ECI to provide a three-year managed service contract for its next-generation networks (NGN).

ST's requirements were for one vendor to build-operate and manage this new network, providing ST with expertise, management tools and leading operations capabilities. ST provides state-of-the-art communication technology solutions to its business customers in and around Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It also operates the telecom network for the Amsterdam national airport. As such, ST enables network, data, voice and internet services for both fixed and wireless clients. ST offers one of the largest Wi-Fi networks in Europe, and licenses cellular backhauling lines to other carriers.

ECI was selected for this partnership due to its advanced platforms and service portfolio, in-house technical expertise and proven network knowledge. ECI will provide a one-stop shop for ST's optical and access network needs, implementing and managing the entire network, while providing a high-level of Service Level Agreement (SLA) for all operations within a very secure environment.

The chosen solution package is part of ECI 1Net, a comprehensive business framework that helps carriers with the transition to NGN. The investment in the new network platform and services will enable ST to expand its value-added service offerings, increase revenue and reduce operational costs. ECI will supply its leading XDM® and BroadGate® MultiService Provisioning Platforms, its Hi-FOCuS(TM) MultiService Access Node, and the LightSoft® Network Management System, delivering a comprehensive access to metro core network solution.

ECI will be responsible for the new network support and implementation starting from the planning, design and delivery, through the rollout of the project, migration of the networks and deployment. Following the implementation phase, ECI will provide full support of the network management, including Network Operations Center (NOC), maintenance and field services.

"We chose ECI as our primary network supplier based on its ability to combine end-to-end solutions plus managed services allowing us to focus on growing our business and serving our customers,” said Ras Lalmy, CEO of ST.

"We were looking for one vendor that would meet all of our requirements. There were many vendors to choose from but only ECI was able to guarantee the high level of service we demand in our operations."
