AICHI, Japan -- SANTEC corporation has introduced the high resolution WPA (WaveProcessor(TM) Arrays) component models (WPA-8, WPA-12, WPA-44) and the test instrument model (WPA-900), based on LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon). The sub-GHz frequency resolution has achieved by newly invented LCOS moving weighted technique (PAT-P). The sub-GHz resolution is effective to maximize the spectral efficiency in next generation flexible-grid ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add Drop Multiplexer). The WPA products will be showcased at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) in Los Angeles, March 8-10, in SANTEC's booth #1919.

"SANTEC's WPA family has many advantages for next generation OTN," said Dr. Noboru Uehara, department manager of R&D of SANTEC. "We are extremely pleased with the advantages of LCOS technology in our WPA platform which provides software-oriented flexible and intelligent solutions for our customers."
