SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Aruba Wireless Networks has announced that its wireless LAN (WLAN) switching system has received certification from RSA Security Inc. in order to provide enterprises with a trusted identity and access management solution between Aruba's Wi-Fi Switches and the RSA SecurID two-factor authentication solution. Aruba now becomes a part of the RSA Secured Partner Program. The two companies will work together to help enterprises achieve the most comprehensive WLAN security coupled with enhanced client authentication.
Because Wi-Fi networks leverage unlicensed radio frequency bands available to anyone, security has become a strategic imperative for enterprises deploying wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) networks and remains one of the biggest concerns for wireless deployment. Companies must feel confident that vital information and applications remain secure, both inside and outside their operations. The strategic partnership between Aruba Wireless Networks and RSA Security helps enterprises build secure WLAN solutions.
As part of the RSA Secured Partner Program, Aruba's family of Wi-Fi switches has been awarded RSA SecurID Ready certification, verifying its interoperability with RSA Security's authentication technology. The RSA Secured certification lets organisations know that a powerful strategic partnership has been created that leverages market-leading security products and technologies in order to meet the needs of an effective enterprise security strategy.
Aruba Wireless Networks innovated centralised wireless security and pioneered the concept of WLAN switching. Its Wi-Fi switching system delivers comprehensive security that provides physical (RF) layer security, data encryption, virtual private networks and stateful user firewalls that protects users from other users. By achieving RSA SecurID Ready certification, Aruba enables its enterprise and service provider customers to extend their security model to provide RSA Security's two-factor authentication solution.
"Many of our customers want integrated support for two-factor authentication," said Keerti Melkote, Co-founder, Aruba Wireless Networks. "We are in a strong position to provide support for the RSA SecurID solution obviating the need for users to continually reauthenticate to the network when they move."
"The RSA Secured Partner Program is the strongest in the industry and we are pleased to add Aruba Wireless Networks to the growing list of companies that understand how important it is to choose strategic partners and technologies that can deliver strong security," said Stuart Cohen, director of partner development at RSA Security.
