DALLAS -- RF Monolithics, Inc. (Nasdaq:RFMI) (RFM) today announced that a major telecom and wireless infrastructure supplier has chosen RFM to manufacture custom intermediate frequency (IF) filters for its CDMA and CDMA2000 3rd generation (3G) cellular base stations. RFM has begun production shipments of these products, which are based on surface acoustic wave (SAW) technology.

Dr. Jidong Dai, Executive Director of RFM's Communications Product Group, commented, "RFM also provides IF SAW filters for GSM, GPRS and EDGE base stations. We have remained in existing platforms throughout the telecom downturn as well as secured new design wins with other wireless infrastructure providers. CDMA and CDMA2000 technologies represent additional new opportunities for us. We are pleased to see production shipments to a global telecom giant, who is a leading supplier of 3G wireless infrastructures."

President and CEO David Kirk stated, "The telecom market currently represents approximately 14% of RFM's revenue. The inclusion of our filters in this latest technology should help maintain and potentially grow sales as the telecom market strengthens, particularly in the wireless sector. The development and shipment of products for CDMA and CDMA2000 technologies shows our commitment to the telecom market, and is just one more example of how RFM is helping to define what Wireless is...(TM).
