HIGH WYCOMBE, U.K. -- Radionet, a leading supplier of Wi-Fi Hotzone technology, today announced its outdoor 54Mbps, 5.725-5.850 GHz frequency band Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint Link products for the UK market.
Conforming to the 802.11a standard, the Radionet Link product family meets the requirements for fixed wireless connections on the 5.8 GHz "band C" set by the UK Office of Communications, including TPC (Transmit Power Control), DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection), 2W transmit power (max 33 dBm), and EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) requirements for outdoor installations. The Radionet Link product family is an integrated solution with weatherproof casing and advanced security features such as AES (Advanced Encryption standard).
"Radionet Link enables corporations and Wi-Fi Hotzone operators to build high-speed wireless backbone connections. Uniquely, the product family is designed for outdoor use from the outset and offers connection speeds of up to 54 Mbps", said Radionet's CTO Max Björkgren.
Radionet Link is available in two configurations - the RN-700UK features 54Mbps Point-to-Point functionality with an integrated high-gain link antenna; the RN-800UK offers Point-to-Multipoint functionality featuring two 54Mbps radios. The products integrate everything required for outdoor set-up including base stations and radio units into a rugged, weatherproof casing. Integrating all components into a single enclosure reduces installation costs and enhances sensitivity by significantly reducing noise from antenna cabling. This allows for faster connection speeds of up to 54 Mbps (throughput 24 Mbps; max 2km) or extended range up to 5 km (throughput approx. 10 Mbps).
The Radionet Link product family is available in the UK through Radionet's distributor AirWare and certified channel partners.
"The Radionet Link product line offers high speed, robustness and reliability. The products are designed to withstand demanding environmental conditions such as temperature changes, humidity and vibration. The products deliver the high quality required in large-scale, outdoor infrastructure installations, and reduce the need for costly manual maintenance and repairs", said Managing Director Jim Kernahan at AirWare Wireless Ltd.
