SAN DIEGO -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM - News), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, today appointed international broadcast media veteran Neville Meijers as the new senior vice president and general manager for MediaFLO Technologies. In this role, Meijers will lead all functional groups -- including Business Development, Engineering, Marketing, Partner Relations, Product Management and Program Management -- for Qualcomm's expanding mobile broadcast business unit. Meijers will oversee the global organization and will report directly to Andrew Gilbert, executive vice president of Qualcomm and president of MediaFLO Technologies and Qualcomm Internet Services.

Meijers joins Qualcomm from Discovery Communications where he recently served as executive vice president of Discovery Communications' Antenna Audio, a world leader in audio and multimedia. He has held senior executive positions in the areas of corporate strategy and business development for Discovery Communications worldwide and was managing director for Discovery Networks Asia based out of Singapore. Meijers' background combines a wealth of technical experience and global business success in the broadcast and Internet industries from his many years in C-level executive positions with Naspers and MIH -- two of the world's leading international media companies.
