SAN DIEGO -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, today announced the appointment of Robert Walton as senior vice president and division president of Qualcomm Enterprise Services (QES). In his new role, Walton will lead the division's business operations and provide strategic guidance in exploring new market opportunities for the group, which offers wireless solutions for a variety of enterprises, from vehicle and equipment telematics to mobile device management and machine-to-machine communications. Walton succeeds Joan Waltman, who has taken on executive responsibilities in commercializing research and development.
"Bob is an accomplished technology executive whose leadership will help guide our continued success and growth in the increasingly important areas of next-generation wireless enterprise services, mobile device management and machine-to-machine communications," said Len Lauer, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Qualcomm.
