Qpass and SmartTrust offer mobile network operators a joint solution to rapidly deploy services across wide range of devices
November 14, 2003
SEATTLE, Wash. -- Qpass Inc., and SmartTrust AB announced today they have entered into an alliance agreement to provide mobile network operators a solution to build and manage value-added services business. These services are delivered to a device-relevant services menu at point of provisioning and subsequently managed over the air.
Qpass® Prosperity Series™ software allows mobile network operators to quickly build a rich catalog of offers and manage all the business relationships with the providers of those applications. Additionally, the integrated reporting and care tools help operators manage their service portfolio and ensure that both revenues and costs are optimized.
SmartTrust, via their SmartTrust Delivery Platform and SmartTrust WIB™, provides technology for SIM provisioning, which allows a user to easily find and purchase a premium data service via offers already available in the menu. By providing a common delivery and browsing environment across different devices, the solution helps reduce cost for development and quality assurance of new services as well as reducing follow-on customer care costs.
The synergy of the companies’ core products allows network operators to push an interactive menu as part of a mobile marketing campaign to the entire SmartTrust WIB™ enabled SIM fleet independent of the device. Subscribers could access mobile data products from their preferred channel and automatically receive the necessary settings over the air to access the channel.
“Having the offers linked directly from the SIM-based browser on the subscriber’s device leads to much higher take-rates rather than from offers located only from a mobile portal,” said Tom Trinneer, Qpass vice president, products. “Qpass’ internal research shows that simplifying the user experience on mobile devices and promoting the best services to the most visible portions of the content menu can result in more than 100% improvement in purchase rates month over month.”
“Being able to flexibly define premium content and service offers for sale directly from the handset adds a new tool for operators to drive revenue from mobile data,” said Andrew Dixon, SmartTrust director of VAS marketing. “By working together, Qpass and SmartTrust have created a solution for operators that want to address their entire subscriber base with compelling, personalized offers and increase premium services uptake.”
