June 26, 2002
ITASCA, Ill. and CHANTILLY, Va. -- PrimeCo Personal Communications, Chicago’s oldest wireless brand, today announced that the company has launched two Short Message Services (SMS) solutions pioneered by InphoMatch, Inc., the foremost provider of inter-carrier (IC) messaging solutions for global wireless telecommunications operators. PrimeCo’s deployment of InphoXchange and InphoMail, a new wireless email product, dramatically expands its customers’ ability to exchange email and text messages using a mobile phone. “The combination of these two services gives us the power to satisfy subscriber demand for wireless email in addition to standard text messaging,” said PrimeCo’s director of marketing, Michael McCann. “InphoMatch’s innovative messaging solutions help serve our customers’ needs and keep PrimeCo at the forefront of delivering innovative products, services, and price plans.”With InphoMail, users can send email to any SMS-capable mobile handset from a desktop or laptop by typing in the recipient’s phone number. Or they may send an email message to any SMS-capable handset from PrimeCo’s Website (www.primeco.com). In both cases, the handset receives the email message as a text message. This fully hosted solution leverages the inherent interoperability and global reach of InphoMatch’s InphoXchange IC SMS platform. InphoXchange allows PrimeCo subscribers to exchange text messages, too, with subscribers of other wireless carriers, irrespective of network technology. PrimeCo customers can take advantage of the new SMS services free of charge during a trial period until August 31, 2002.PrimeCo PCSInphoMatch Inc.
