BATH, U.K. -- picoChip today announced it has appointed Jonathan Brooks as non-executive chairman. As previous chief financial officer (CFO) and director of ARM Holdings during the company's transition through IPO, Brooks brings to picoChip substantial experience in managing rapid growth in semiconductor start-ups. picoChip has developed the world's highest performance DSP tuned for wireless, and is a supplier of complete reference designs for WiMAX and HSDPA.

Brooks is currently CFO and a director of Frontier Silicon, who supply semiconductors for DAB and digital television applications. He is also a non-executive director of e2v technologies PLC and Xyratex Limited. Between 1995 and 2002 he was Chief Financial Officer and a director of ARM Holdings plc, which listed on the LSE and Nasdaq National Market in 1998. Before that, he performed a variety of financial roles for the Accor Group in London and Paris. Brooks holds a BSc Econ degree from the University of Wales, an MBA from Manchester Business School and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
