ASHBURTON, U.K. and WALTHAM, Mass. -- Orthogon Systems™, a leading provider of point-to-point broadband wireless systems, today introduced the OS-Gemini Lite, a new addition to its family of products. The OS-Gemini Lite is a broadband wireless Ethernet bridge that provides the same robust functionality as the OS-Gemini, but at less cost and with an end-user Ethernet data rate of up to 21 Mbps.

The company has also announced the OS-Gemini 5840 software release, a free upgrade to Orthogon’s flagship product, the OS-Gemini. Available via Web download, the 5840 increases the product’s throughput from 34 Mbps to 43 Mbps end-user Ethernet data rate.

“With the availability of the 5840 software release and the new Lite platform, the OS-Gemini product line is able to address a much broader range of customer requirements for highly reliable point-to-point connectivity,” said Ken Dubuque, vice president of sales and marketing at Orthogon Systems. “While the 5840 addresses a customer’s demand for more throughput, the OS-Gemini Lite addresses another customer’s demand for an entry level platform with less throughput and at a lower price point.”
