Lyse Tele selects Oracle for OSS transformation to enhance business-process efficiency

  • Oracle today announced that Lyse Tele, a leading Norwegian utility and communications company, selected Oracle® Communications Service Fulfillment Suite to help manage its growing network and enable efficient delivery of multi-play communications services including VoIP, IPTV and mobile services. Lyse Tele's operational support systems (OSS) transformation will include implementations of Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management, Oracle Communications Order and Service Management and Oracle Communications Service Activation.

  • Lyse Tele, which offers full triple-play, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and mobile services to customers in Norway and Denmark, will implement the Oracle Communications applications to replace custom-built systems in order to streamline expected subscriber growth and to reduce total cost of ownership. Lyse Tele and its partners operate one of northern Europe's largest, fully integrated FTTH networks with more than 100,000 connected customers. Lyse Tele selected Oracle over its competitors due to the strength of its end-to-end offering for the communications industry and its compliance with industry standards -- such as the TM Forum's Next-Generation Operational Support Systems (NGOSS) and Standard Information/Data Model (SID).

  • Unlike traditional network-focused inventory management systems that provide a view of network assets without accurately relating them to specific customers or services, Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management shows how each customer consumes resources across multiple services and networks -- allowing service providers like Lyse Tele to deliver services more quickly, improve compliance related to their infrastructures and manage network resources more effectively.

  • With Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management, Lyse Tele will gain a real-time, unified view of customer, service and resource inventory -- vital for rolling out complex next-generation services. Lyse Tele expects to leverage the application's customer-centric views to increase operational efficiency and accelerate delivery of new services.

  • Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management will also integrate with Oracle Communications Order and Service Management and Oracle Communications Service Activation to streamline the order-to-activation process and help ensure accurate and cost-effective service delivery.

  • Lyse Tele already is using Oracle Siebel CRM to manage customer information in order to deliver high quality customer service. In addition, the provider uses Oracle Database and components of Oracle Fusion Middleware.
