MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. and HERZLIYA, Israel -- Optibase, Ltd. (NASDAQ:OBAS), a leading provider of streaming media solutions, today announced that its MPEG MovieMaker 200S encoding platforms have been incorporated into a digital footage system owned by Corbis Motion, a leading stock footage company.

Corbis Motion provides professionals with online access to a comprehensive resource of high-quality rights managed and royalty free footage. Footage includes thousands of hours of contemporary and archival imagery from the Hot Shots, Actions Sports Adventure and Film Bank collections. These collections feature content from high-profile providers such as Paramount Pictures, ESPN, Hearst Entertainment, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc, CNN and MGM Studios.

The Corbis system utilizes an Asset Management System provided by VideoBank, a software development company. Using the Asset Management system, Corbis Motion and their customers have the ability to search the footage library, made up of various digital tape formats, view the streaming proxy video, build collections, and deliver high quality clips in a variety of professional broadcast formats. Upon selection of the desired footage, users may purchase it delivered in either Digital or Analog formats. The Corbis Motion footage library is digitally encoded into broadcast quality using the Optibase MPEG MovieMaker 200S encoders, under the control of the VideoBank Encode/Logger application. The material is logged with attributes assigned to each shot. The VideoBank application automates the transcoding of the MPEG-2 asset into various frame-accurate streaming formats, such as MPEG-1 and Windows Media format.

“Corbis Motion has an aggressive content development strategy, and our library is constantly being updated with new and exciting material,” said Rick Wysocki, Vice President of Corbis Motion Brands. “We offer customers fresh material in high-demand subject and concept categories. The VideoBank application, in conjunction with Optibase’s MPEG MovieMakers ensures that the content is produced and logged in the best possible quality and is available for immediate viewing and purchase.”

Louis Siracusano, President of VideoBank said, “The combination of VideoBank’s MAM application and Optibase’s MPEG encoding tools enabled Corbis Motion to ingest and make available for sale over 20,000 video elements from a videotape based archive in less than three months.”

“Optibase is a pioneer in the delivery of encoding platforms to digital video professionals,” said Adam Schadle, vice president of sales for Optibase Inc. “VideoBank was able to integrate the MPEG MovieMaker 200S into its asset management system using Optibase’s Software Development Tools. Using the collaborative efforts of both companies, we were able to customize a solution for Corbis Motion. We look forward to additional cooperations.”
