Onetta will unveil its intelligent metro amplifier with integrated control electronics at the upcoming OFC

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Onetta, Inc. (www.onetta.com), a leading developer and manufacturer of Intelligent Optical Engines (IOEs), today announced that it has released for general availability the first member of its metro and regional family of intelligent amplifiers. The IOE 11310 C-Band In-Line Amplifier features software-tunable gain, integrated control electronics, ultra-fast transient control and advanced software functionality for network equipment manufacturers and carriers deploying metro and regional networks. Leveraging the success of its long-haul and ultra long-haul EDFAs, Onetta extends this advanced feature set and functionality across its new Metro/Regional product line. Efficient and cost-effective, the IOE 11310 C offers more than 15dB gain dynamic range and 34dB input power dynamic range, flexibly supporting various network topologies and accommodating a broad range of optical input powers and varying channel counts. "Metro EDFA requirements have significantly expanded over the last year, a direct function of the growth and increased complexity of metro networks," said Daryl Inniss, Senior Analyst, Optical Components Global at RHK, Inc. "Onetta's Metro EDFAs are designed to manage optical power transients, a key challenge for guaranteeing quality of service for customers.
