(Nasdaq:OCPI), a manufacturer of fiber optic subsystems and modules for metropolitan area networks and high-speed premises networks, today announced the availability of its new OC-48 optical transponder products, the PTC-48S and PTC-48SL series. Optical Communication Products, Inc. (OCP) has developed these OC-48 optical transponders in response to the growing demand for higher integration and functionality and smaller package size in metropolitan/access and high-speed premises network equipment."Small package size and low power consumption are critical requirements for fiberoptic modules that serve metropolitan/access applications.
