EAST GRANBY, Conn. -- Nufern, an independent provider of application-specific optical fiber, has released its family of select cut-off single-mode fibers in operating wavelengths including 460nm, 630nm, 780nm, 980nm, 1060nm and higher. Designed for use in telecommunications, visible-wavelength, RGB and short-wavelength applications, these high-performance fibers offer exceptional uniformity and core/clad concentricity specifications. In addition, these fibers offer tight second mode cut-off tolerances, tighter bend radius applications in miniaturized fiber optic packages, and are available in 80 µm and 125 µm form factors. "This line addresses the breadth of the market," said Nufern President and CEO, Martin Seifert. "From deep blue visible, through video RGB, to infrared telecom, we are delivering what our customers need today – with better optical and mechanical tolerances."As with all Nufern products, Nufern select cut-off single-mode fibers provide high lot-to-lot uniformity, and are tested to Telcordia standards. Nufern will showcase these fibers at OFC, Booth #6500, along with its polarization maintaining fiber, planar waveguide fiber and its lines of metalized pigtails, photosensitive fibers and ultra high numerical aperture fibers.NufernFor more information on OFC 2002, please visit: www.nottheofc.com
