BaneTele selects Lumentis for boosting the next-generation broadband network in Norway

STOCKHOLM -- BaneTele, Norway, has signed a long term contract with Lumentis, Swedish optical data and telecom solutions supplier. BaneTele will use Lumentis optical transmission equipment Mentis™ for it’s many high demanding broadband customers throughout Norway

BaneTele, the leading competitive provider of telecommunications infrastructure, broadband, transmission and data networks, aims to develop and deliver the optimal solutions for its customers within the public and private sectors, including the sector of higher education. BaneTele is also a large supplier of broadband capacity to universities and university colleges in Norway.

To be selected by BaneTele is confirmation to the market that we are truly best in class with Metro and Regional optical networking. This key relationship will enable us to implement the full range of our product portfolio and also develop new product(s) and services together with BaneTele over time”, says Pär Johanson, Director of Marketing and Sales at Lumentis.

With the Lumentis equipment, BaneTele will, over the coming years, both implement new infrastructure and replace old infrastructure in a number of regional projects. The first batch of equipment delivered by Lumentis will be put into operation in throughout spring, 2005.
