Nexmo raises $3M to scale disruptive communications API

SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON -- Nexmo, the company that solves mobile messaging, today announced that it has closed a round of funding led by Intel Capital, and including NHN Investment Corporation and Initial Capital. Already profitable with accelerating revenue growth, the company will use the funds to expand its suite of APIs in the cloud telecommunications space, and finalize its direct to carrier roll outs around the globe. Across devices and borders Nexmo has eliminated traditional barriers, and is disrupting the way applications and companies communicate with over 5 billion people worldwide. Nexmo offers a unique and innovative cloud-based API that, for the first time, truly lets apps send and receive a high volume of mobile messages seamlessly around the world, and at wholesale rates. Unlike any other provider, Nexmo enables developers and enterprises to build scalable messaging applications in the cloud without any intermediation to reach the final carrier. Finally, Nexmo also benefits carriers by opening up new revenue streams from B2B customers.
