STOCKHOLM -- Net Insight AB (SX-NETI B), a leading provider of video, voice and data networking equipment, announced the availability of a 2-port OC-48/STM-16 X-ADM switching mulitplexer module for its Nimbra( transport platform.

The new module will enable carriers and service providers to provide TV, Video On Demand (VOD), Internet Access, Voice over xDSL to their customers, all with guaranteed 100% QoS, and 95% efficiency. The new module when combined with the high bandwidth utilization of the Nimbra One switch provides operators with the lowest CAPEX and OPEX for triple play installations.

The new module will allow Net Insight to better serve the growing market for Telco and CATV Triple Play by allowing for interconnection of up to seven double-rings in its Nimbra One multi-service switch. Net Insight has a strong track record of success in the triple play areas with successful deployments in the U.S.

The new module also enables advanced Ethernet, ASI, SDI, and PDH services to the market, and can be used in any topology (point-to-point, ring, and mesh). The Nimbra platform combines Next Generation SDH/Sonet transport, carrier strength Ethernet and specific video and legacy interfaces for multi-service networks with highest available QoS, and bandwidth efficiency.

"Our new OC-48 module allows users of our Nimbra platform to take advantage of the expected growth of Telco Triple play," said Tomas Duffy, CEO of Net Insight. "We can now deliver an even more robust network that can readily deliver advanced video services such as VOD and HDTV."
