LONDON -- First Hop®, a proven leader in mobile middleware, and MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) today announced that MTC-Vodafone has chosen First Hop Wireless Broker for the delivery of application messaging services, and for provisioning the services and managing the content providers.
MTC-Vodafone chose First Hop Wireless Broker messaging products, Message Router and Service Manager, to power its wireless messaging content and application business. First Hop products have been deployed and integrated into the operators messaging network and value-added services infrastructure in record time. The products are now operational and the wireless messaging services are already accessible by all MTC-Vodafone subscribers. Message Router is used for connecting MTC-Vodafone subscribers into a dynamic set of SMS and MMS based content services. Message Router is integrated with pre- and post-paid billing, messaging centres, content providers, and the Value Added Service Portal of MTC-Vodafone, thus acting as a broker for all value-added messaging transactions. Service Manager is used for provisioning the wireless content services, as well as for managing the content and application providers.
"MTC-Vodafone Bahrain selected First Hop as our prime service aggregator to work with all our systems, platforms, and content providers based on the flexibility of the services they were offering together with the committed and proven solutions offered by First Hop", says Khaled Al Farkh, Chief Operating Officer at MTC-Vodafone Bahrain. "Our experience with First Hop during the launch process underpinned our earlier assessment of their capabilities. First Hop provided an on-site as well as on-line professional team who were very receptive to our requirements and proved to be a first-class service and product provider."
MTC-Vodafone is the latest mobile operator to join First Hops list of distinguished references for First Hop Wireless Broker. The First Hop customer list already includes market-leading mobile service companies such as Vodafone, Sonera zed, M1, T-Mobile, End-2-End, Orange, and Radiolinja.
"The MTC-Vodafone contract further strengthens First Hops business in the Middle East", states Timo T Laaksonen, CEO of First Hop. "MTC-Vodafone is the first customer to deploy the newly integrated First Hop Wireless Broker suite of products. We are proud to deliver such a strategic centrepoint in the MTC-Vodafone network, acting as a broker that bridges all value-added messaging transactions with the various network capabilities, delivery channels, application and content servers, as well as with billing and business management processes", adds Mr Laaksonen.
