Motorola demonstrates live video downloads and other applications running on its CDMA2000 1xEV-DO system at CTIA Wireless
March 22, 2004
ATLANTA -- Motorola Inc.'s (NYSE:MOT) CDMA2000 1xEV-DO wireless infrastructure solution enables delivery of proven revenue-generating applications to mobile users, allowing them the capability to enjoy music, video, picture messaging and other broadband applications while on the go. Motorola will be demonstrating live video downloads and other applications running on its CDMA2000 1xEV-DO system at CTIA Wireless 2004 in Hall B4 at the Motorola Booth # 3525.
Motorola's CDMA2000 1xEV-DO offering provides effective cost management through planned network upgrades that will integrate with customers' current CDMA2000 1X networks to maximize the re-use of their existing infrastructure equipment. Existing Motorola Base Transceiver Subsystems (BTS) can be upgraded with the addition of a new Multi-Channel CDMA Module. In addition, Motorola's new micro-cell solution, the SC480, supports CDMA2000 1xEV-DO. This new base station enables operators to fill coverage holes within existing macro cellular coverage. It can be deployed in indoor or outdoor locations.
"We continue our commitment to our CDMA operator customers by developing a portfolio of solutions that offers the latest technology to enable them to generate new revenue and penetrate new markets," said Bruce Stone, senior vice president, CDMA Systems Division.
