More WiMax for Mozambique

Foris Telecom and Runcom Technologies will enhance their collaboration in Mozambique

GENEVA -- Foris Telecom, the leading WiMAX operator in developing countries, and Runcom Technologies, the ODFMA pioneer, announced today at the ITU TELECOM WORD 2009 in Geneva that they will enhance their collaboration in Mozambique, Africa, by substantially deploying additional quantities of Base Stations and User Terminals.

The Foris WiMAX Network in Maputo was recently connected to the SEACOM Fiber Cable system that substantially increases the capacity available for the subscribers and enables the addition of more subscribers to the Network.

"The commercial and technological success in our first deployment in Mozambique give us the confidence and will be a model for our aggressive expansion plan for broadband wireless services in other developing countries in which Foris holds WiMAX licenses " said Dov Slook, Chairman of Foris Telecom.
