LONDON -- LogicaCMG Telecoms Products today announces that it has been selected by Meteor Mobile Communications, the Irish mobile operator, to help the company enable the secure use of mobile services for all subscribers. LogicaCMG recently announced the sale of its Telecoms Products business to a consortium of private equity buyers, subject to employee consultation and regulatory approval. Once the transaction closes the Telecoms Products business will trade under the new brand, Acision (www.acision.com).

As a member of the Irish Cellular Industry Association (ICIA), Meteor has been instrumental in driving and developing the country's Code of Practice initiative, designed to protect vulnerable subscribers from accessing unsuitable content.

Adrian Kelly, Senior Vice President for Application and Content Services at LogicaCMG Telecoms Products, said: "It is commendable that Meteor has taken the positive step to drive this forward in Ireland in order to protect vulnerable subscribers. With the EU currently considering a similar Code of Practice, Meteor provides the industry with a strong example of how subscriber protection can be introduced with confidence."
