MOUTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- LVL7 Systems, Inc. and AirTight Networks, Inc. signed an agreement today designed to give global network equipment vendors a more integrated approach for addressing enterprise WLAN opportunities. By combining technologies from both market-leading companies – LVL7 in production-ready networking software and AirTight in wireless intrusion prevention solutions – original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) will be able to offer a complete solution that covers WLAN deployments from start to finish.

The partnership leverages the complementary technologies and strengths resident in both companies’ product portfolios. By combining FASTPATH® WLAN Switching Software and WLAN Access Point Software from LVL7 with AirTight’s SpectraGuard® Planner and SpectraGuard Enterprise offerings, OEMs can enable enterprise customers to successfully implement a secure, scalable, and cost-effective wireless network.

  • As a total enterprise WLAN solution, the LVL7 / AirTight combination spans:

  • pre-installation site modeling and planning;

  • assessment of RF coverage and security exposures;

  • full-featured WLAN switching with plug-and-play radio management, seamless roaming, and deployment as a unified or overlay solution;

  • unique Access Point technology that supports either traditional stand-alone APs or switch-enabled APs that are centrally controlled; and,

  • full-scale performance and security management that detects and prevents wireless intrusions via an enterprise-class firewall.

    “By itself, LVL7 offers a compelling approach for unifying the wireless and wireline switching domains,” said Dave King, LVL7’s vice president for marketing and strategy, “but our alliance with AirTight raises the bar for enterprise WLAN solutions. Collectively, we’ve made our OEM value proposition for the enterprise user community virtually unbeatable by combining the best benefits of mobility, scalability, and security into a solution that’s very easy to deploy and manage.”
