LONDON -- FLAG Telecom, a leading provider of international wholesale network transport and communications services, can now be reached more easily by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Content Delivery Service Providers (CDSPs) using the new portal at the London Internet Exchange (LINX), dedicated to Level 2 services. FLAG Telecom offers existing and potential members of the world’s key international Internet exchanges (IX) a high quality, low cost ‘virtual’ presence at LINX, Europe’s largest Internet exchange.

FLAG’s V-NAP (virtual network access point) service enables customers to rapidly build out a private virtual network to key international Internet exchanges (IXs), such as LINX, for public and private peering. Information on the V-NAP service, which provides a high quality, flexible, cost-effective alternative to deployment of dedicated international IX infrastructure, can now be accessed more quickly through the new LINX portal.

Matthew Groves, FLAG's IP Product Manager, said: "FLAG’s global MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) network has connections into the world’s key International Internet exchanges and the company has long been an active member and supporter of LINX. An ISP or CDSP using the FLAG V-NAP service can now have a ‘tunnelled’ connection into LINX’s high capacity switching and routing equipment, providing a robust and secure connection over FLAG’s worldwide fibre optic network.”

LINX Sales and Marketing Manager, Vanessa Evans said: "LINX is one of the major Internet exchanges in the world today with over 140 active members. We pride ourselves on our innovative customer service and believe that the new sales portal will bring real benefits to providers looking for fast, easy access to all our services. The V-NAP service from FLAG, known as a Pseudowire service at LINX, provides a cost-effective way for ISPs around the world to meet all the technical requirements for LINX membership."
